PEDIGREE SALE. FEMALE JERSEY STOCK The Farmers* Co-op. are holding a sale of pedigree Jersey females in the Manaia yards on Monday, June 26, and entries will be received up to Wednesday, May 24, after which the catalogue will be arranged. The present entries include some of the best line-bred Jerseys possessing strains of the most fashionable blood. All those noted sires such as K.C.8., Campanile’s Sultan, Molina’s General, Eminent’s Fontaine, Magnet’s Boy, Lord Twylish, Majesty’s Fox, The Squire, etc., appear quite frequently in the various pedigrees on both the dams’ and sires’ sides. The dams hold butter-fat records which will compare more than favorably with other dams in any part of the Dominion. In Mr. C. Jones’ entry the whole of his pedigree Jersey herd is included, and as he intends relinquishing dairying buyers will be afforded a great opportunity of purchasing high-class stock that will prove valuable acquisitions to their herd. This breeder’s best cow, Shamrock Sweet, holds a C.O.R. record of 6971b5. of butter-fat produced in 365 days. One of her daughters, Pretty’s Princess, as a two-year-old heifer, has produced 3601b5. of butter-fat in 263 days. She is still milking well, and has up till next Augttst to complete her record. Another two-year-old heifer. Passion’s Beauty, has made well over 3001bs. of butter-fat so far and has up till September next to complete her record. Both of these heifers are entered for the Jersey Oaks. The auctioneers’ agent, who has inspected the herd, states that all of the cattle are in fine fettle, and, as for type, is of opinion they would be hard to beat. Mr. Jones has intimated that he is prepared to show any intending buyers through his herd at any time between now and the day of flie sale. Fuller particulars and all details will be furnished in the catalogue that is to be prepared at an early date.
