The report of the conference appointed to consider the currency question recommends that steps be taken to prevent the further inflation of the currency, and that the policy of a return to the gold basis be steadfastly pursued. The report emphasises the necessity for maintaining the gold standard and a free market in gold, but since immediate deflation might result In a grave crisis, suggests an extension of the inconvertibility of gold certificates till June, 1925. It recommends the removal, as soon as possible, of the embargo on the ex u port of gold bullion, and that export and import be freed from all restrictions.
