ATHLETICS.
CARDIFF SPORTS, A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. The second annual sports at Cardiff were held on Mr. J. Richards’ ground yesterday. The committee were not discouraged by the overcast appearance of the weather, although at about 2 o'clock slight rain fell, which cnade matters unpleasant underfoot. The undoubted success of the gathering was due to the unswerving energy and enthusiasm of the whole of the officials. All the events were well filled and keenly contested. The chopping and sawing events were an interesting feature of the day’s outing. Miss D. Walker had charge of the refreshment boom, and was kept busy all day.
