A DAIRY POOL.
COMPULSORY SCHEME. i BIG CONFERENCE TO-DAY. Representatives of the dairy factories will assemble in conference in Wellington to-day to discuss a proposal for thestablishment of a compulsory dairy pool. There will be about fifty delegates present, and it is reckoned the conference will last for at least two days. Meetings relating to the project have been held at Hawera, New Plymouth Auckland, Hanrilton, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Dannevirke, Carterton, Blenheim, Richmond, Greymouth, and Dunedin. At all these meetings delegates were appointed to attend to-day’s conference. The purpose of the meetings is to discuss final details of the scheme for submission tc the separate dairy companies. At nearly all of these meetings the proposal was adopted unanimously, and at none of them was there any great opposition.
