WEDDING.
PETERSEN—FINNERTY. A wedding of considerable interest was solemnised on Thursday, May 11, at the residence of Mr. R. Glengarry, of Ahititi, the contracting parties being Miss Agnes Finnerty, sister of Mrs. R. Glengarry and Mrs. H. Rowe, to Mr. Arthur O. Petersen, of Ahititi. The Rev. Kedgley, Presbyterian minister of Waitara, officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law (Mr. R. Glengarry), was becomingly attired in white silk, with an overdress of georgette, artistically embroidered with three lovers’ knots and pearl beads, the veil being of silk net, arranged in mob-cap style, with orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums and maidenhair ferns. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Mins Eva Rowe, niece of the bride, and Miss Bray, of Mauriceville, who were robed in white silk voile, trimmed with pale pink rose buds, their hats being of black chiffon, lined "with pink. They also carried sheaf bouquets of pink and white chrysanthemums and asparagus ferns. The bridegroom' was supported by his two brothers, Mr. Bert Petersen acting as best man, and Mr. Oscar Petersen as groomsman. After the ceremony the relatives and immediate friends of the bride and bridegroom were entertained at a breakfast. The handsome three-decker wedding cake, the work of two local ladies, was the subject of many complimentary remarks. A lengthy toast list was duly honored, the Rev. Kedgley, in a very happy speech, proposing the toast of “The Bride and Bridegroom . The happy couple left by mail car for a honeymoon in the Eketahuna district, the brides travelling dress being of fawn velour cloth and hat of electric blue velour. A pleasant little dance was held in the evening, at which the guests spent a most enjoyable time.
