Morrison preside ing over a large attendance of The following remits were carried: That the conference strongly protest against the unjust deduction of 4 10 weight, and urge that a reduction be made in the open charges for handling wool, especially the charge of per lb for receiving, weighing, and lotting. That the inter-provincial conference be requested to give consideration to the matter of excessive and other charges fa? wool. That the former arrangement of IK days prompt in regard to fragments of wool sold be reverted to. That the Woolbrokers’ Association Iml requested and be urged to bring down legislation to make stock .and statical farms liable for payment on eales of live stock made through them or theds agents by forward delivery. That an expert board should be fanned to represent every branch of tM farming industry. Wanganui. Last Night. Additional remits carried were: (1) Urging the abolition of compulsory preference to unionists; (2) Objecting to the Railway Depart* ment prohibiting its servants assistant to load cream cans; (3) Drawing the attention of the Railway Department to the penalty imposed on inland freezing works by the high freight on frozen meat compared with

live stock; (4) Urging a reduction in railway freights. A general complaint was made of thd damage done to crops by hares, ft wad pointed out that in some localities reafforestation was impossible, owing to the damage done to young trees, and Hi was said the pest was as bad as rabs bits.
