The Burdett-Coutts sale of booKs and the manuscript of Dickens’ ‘Tlaunted Man,” with the autograph presentation inscription “To Miss Burdett-Coutts” was sold to the American Rosenback for £3700. A SEVERE EARTHQUAKE. Received May 18, 8.5 p.m. New York, May 15. At Portland, Oregon, an earthquake shock was experienced which lasted ten seconds and rocked skyscrapers.
