ROSINA BUCKMAN.
WELCOME AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. New Zealand’s prima donna, Miss Rosina Buckman, to-day set foot once more on her native New Zealand. She was most enthusiastically received. A civic reception was accorded her at the Town Hall, when the Prime Minister, the Mayor, Sir Joseph "Ward, and Mr. Robert Parker (the latter on behalf of musicians) cordially welcomed her and her husband. Mr. Maurice D*OiBley. Mr. Massey, Sir Joseph Ward and Mr. Wright spoke of the rapid rise to fame of the New Zealander, of whom we were justly proud. They congratulated Miss Backman upon the position she had reached in the musical world. Miss Buckman was overwhelmed with the cordiality of the reception. It is nine years since she left New Zealand. The interval has not been without hard work, for Govent Garden is not attainable without close study as well as the voice and ambition.
