DISTRICT NEWS.

OAKURA. (Contributed.) The residents of Oakura have just added a supper room to their district hall. To celebrate its opening a ball was hold In the hall on Tuesday night, 9th inst. The room was filled to its utmost capacity, and all present expressed their complete satisfaction with the arrangements. Prior to the ball the committee used every effort to make the gathering a success, and in this direction the result exceeded their expectations. The lady members of the are to be congratulated .in the excellent manner in which supper was served. Mrs. Georgs’s orchestra was engaged for the occasion, and acquitted themselves in their usual superior style.
