WATERSIDERS’ PAY.
SMALL REDUCTION MADE. OPERATES NEXT WEEK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, May 12. Special orders reducing the wages of waterside workers, cooks and stewards have been made by the Arbitration Court, the watersiders by lid per hour for such time as the employers continue to pay the present rates, inclusive of the bonus of one penny per hour now being paid under the agreement, with the provision that, in the event of the discontinuance of the penny bonus, the reduction shall be a farthing, in lieu of lid. This is operative from Monday next. 5 . Cooks and stewards are reduced oy 16s 8d per month, or one penny per hour, for adult workers, 5s lOd per month, or a halfpenny per hour, for juniors. The Court took into consideration that the workers in these occupations were not given the full amount of bonus awarded to other workers.
