GOOD POSTAL YEAR.

CHEAPER SERVICE SOON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dannevirke, May 12. The Hon. J. G. Coates, who is touring the backblocks of the East Coast, speaking at Pongaroa last night, said that, owing to the economies effected and increased charges, he was able to announce that they had had a very good year in the Post Office, and, although he was not at liberty to give figures, the revenue would exceed the expenditure. He predicted that it would be possible to give the public a slightly cheaper service, particulars of which would be announced in due course. The Minister is visiting Akitio and Porangahau today.
