ELTHAM.
PLUNKET SOCIETY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) May 10. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held yesterday, Mr. G. W. Tayler presiding over a good attendance of the committee. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Wood and Fountaine. It was reported that a letter had been received at Hawera from Miss Fitzpatrick, of Plunket nursing, suggesting that Elifliam should join Stratford in order to make a fairer division of labor. The president (Mr. Tayler) had sent a deputation, consisting of Mesdames Thorpe, Weir, senr., Bridger, and the secretary, to Hawera to attend the annual meeting and point out that it would not he to the local society’s benefit to make a change. After an interesting discussion, if was decided to keep Eltham as a branch. A picture benefit had been arranged for May 30. A committee to arrange for the sale of sweets were Mesdames Thorpe, Martin, Foord, Harrison. Palmer, and Bridger. Three new members, Mesdames McGregor, Anderson, and Mr. Tayler, were duly elected.
