Members of the industrial group oi the House of Commons discussed Oom« mander Burney s airship scheme for In* dia and Australia. Mr. A. H. Asshbolt Agent-General fo£ Tasmania} explained the Imperial a®pects of the scheme, intimating that Australia would probably be prepared to vote a subsidy of £150,000 a year, though this was not definitely settled. Commander Burney also explained th® proposal, and urged the desirability of the country being able to call on th® services of a fleet of airships in cnee of war, to co-operate with submarine®. The meeting passed a resolution deciding to send a deputationthe Committee of Imperial Defence, m order to urge the commercial possibilities and military advantages of Commander Bur-* ney’s scheme. —Aus.-N.Z.
