BOXING.
TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. •A meeting of the committee of the Taranaki Boxing Association was held last night. Present: Messrs. E. Jackson (chairman), W. Graham, G. E. Jago, R. Paul, C. Grainger, A. Baker, F. J. Eggleton, W. Richards, M. Stagpoole, W. Whittaker, J. Garcia, SV. N. Stephenson, and N. B. Howell (acting secretary) . The chairman welcomed the new members to the committee and expressed the hope that they would have a successful year. Reference was made to the excellent work rendered by Mr. R. Inch to the association at the various tournaments, and it was resolved to place on record the appreciation of the committee. It was decided to hold a two-nights’ tournament on June 15 and 17 in the Coronation Hall. A number'"of territorial alid cadet bouts will be staged on the first night if possible. A professional bout will be staged each night. It was suggested that on the first night McAsey and Richardson should bo matched, and on the second night an endeavor should be made to match Heeney and Whittaker. It was resolved to make the amateur bouts open, viz.. Bantam, feather, light, welter, middle and heavy. Entries will close on June 1. Mr. F. Burns, of Auckland, was appointed referee. Committees were set up as follows: Match, Messrs. Jackson, Graham and Jago; house, Messrs. Stephenson, Grainger, Richards. Paul and Howell: publicity and ticket, Messrs. Garcia, Graham, Jackson, M’hittaker and Jago ; finance, Messrs. Graham, Jackson, and N. B. Howell. Ti e next meeting will be held next Tuesday evening.
