ATTITUDE OF A MAGISTRAL. SENTENCE OF FOURTEEN DAYS. By Telegraph. —Press Assorjttion. Westport, Last Night. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day Mr. T E Maansell. S.M., convicted a sailor charged with the theft of stores valued at 6s from the U.S.S. Co., Ltd., and sentenced him to fourteen days imprisonment. He stated that as thieves appeared to be still reaping a great harvest on the wharves he intended to send them to gaol in all except exceptional cases.
