EX-SOLDIERS IDLE.

A PROBLEM IN SYDNEY. By Telegraph.—Press Asm. —Copyright. Received May 9, 7.20 pmj. Sydney, May 9. The need to relieve the large number of unemployed returned soldiers is becoming more pressing in view of the approaching winter, but owing to the general congestion of the labor market it is proving a more difficult undertaking than was expected. A meeting called by the Lord Mayor proved futile, owing to the non-attend-ance of large employers, whose co-opera-tion is essential. The meeting adjourned to enable efforts to be made to secure their attendance. —Aus.-N-Z. Cable Assn.
