Rough weather was encountered by the Rarawa, which arrived in port from Onehunga yesterday at 9.10 a.m., nearly four hours later than usual. The vessel took fourteen hours to reach New Plymouth from the Manukau bar. The Rarawa, brought passengers and 140 tons of general cargo. She returned north last night. BADEN POWELL EN ROUTE. The Baden Powell left Wellington for New Plymouth with general cargo at 3.50 p.m. yesterday, and should make port late this afternoon or to-morrow morning. KAHIKA TO-MORROW. The Kahika is expected from Wellington, via Picton and Onehunga, to-morrow. CARGO FROM LONDON. In continuation of her voyage from London, the C. and D. steamer Makalla left Auckland yesterday afternoon for Wellington, where she is due on Friday morning. The vessel is due at New Plymouth next week to put out the balance of her cargo, after which she is to load at Nelson, Wanganui and Australian ports for London. PALOONA FOR WELLINGTON. The Union Company announces that th 6 Paloona was to clear Melbourne yesterday for Wellington, which port she should reach on Sunday next. The vessel will sail about Monday on the return voyage, via Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. THE SYDNEY SERVICE. The next vessel from Sydney coming to the agency of the Union Company will be the Moeraki, leaving the Ndlv South Wales •port to-morrow, and arriving at Wellington on Monday. TRANS-PACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. The latest movements of units of the Union Company’s fleet engaged in the cargo service between Pacific Slope ports and New Zealand and Australia are announced as follow : The Hauraki, now loading at Pacific Coast ports for Wellington, Lyttelton, Duriedin, Melbourne, and Sydney, is expected to leave San Francisco at the end of the current month. The Waiotapu was to leave Sydney on Sunday for Newcastle, where she will complete loading at San Francisco and Vancouver, proceeding via Apia. The Waitemata, from Geelong, is expected to clear Wallaroo about Saturday for Kobe. She will proceed thence to Vancouver. The Waikawa, from Pacific Coast ports, should leave San Francisco on May 13 for Apia, Napier, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. The Wairuna has arrived at Auckland from San Francisco.
