AMERICAN TROOPS IN GERMANY. Washington, May 4. The War Department has ordered a delay in the hailing of part of the American troops on the Rhine until June 17. CHARGE OF CONSPIRACY. t Ottawa, May 4. The police arrested 300 members of the Longshoremen’s Union, charged with conspiracy and killing a constable during an attack on strike-breakers. ENGINEERS ASSAULTED. London, May 5. The crowd at Barrow assaulted and infrared several engineers at Vickers and Co.’s yards, who had returned to work. A large force of police is now escorting men from the trains to the works. SECESSION FROM FEDERATION. Capetown, May 5. The Engine-drivere’ and Firemen's Union, one of the most important on the Rand, has decided to secede from the Industrial Federation. The step is taken as a result of a ballot on the reef and elsewhere. —rAus.-N-Z. Cable Assn. ANTI-SEMENOFF CAMPAIGN, Washington, May 5. Senator Borah, in a speech in the Senate, urging the deportation of Semenoff, reiterated the charges made in recent hearings before the courts. He also charged Boris Bakhmeteff, Ambassador appointed by the Kerensky Government, with breaking faith with the American Government by investing for his personal use part of‘the 187 million dollars loaned him by the American Treasury.
