KAIMATA SPORTS.
A SUCCESSFUL MEETING. KEEN COMPETITION. The Kainiata Sports Club’s annual meeting was held on Mr. J. Klenner’s paddock at Kaimata. on Ttursday in perfect weather. There was a large attendance from the surrounding districts and an excellent day’s •port was recorded. The sawing and chopping events were the greatest draw of the day, and the entries were so large that heats had to be run in every case. Over one hundred nominations were received for the chopping, prominent axemen, including She wry (the world’s champfcin), taking part. Tte sawing was no less keenly contested, and seine good times were put up. Complete arrangements had been made by the committee for the conduct of the meeting, the events, in spite of the unwieldy entries, being dispatched in good time. Excellent refreshments were dispensed by a committee of ladies in a marquee on the grounds. Pollowing are the results of the competitive events:— RUNNING EVENTS. 100 Yards, boys under 17.—E.
