A most enjoyable social.evening was held in the Technical College on Thursday as a wind-up for the day school term. The first part of the evening took the form of a book competition. One of the large class-rooms had been especially prepared for a supper-room, and the decorations were both elaborate and artistic, the color scheme being carried out in autumn tints. Suspended from the centre of the room was a large bell composed of pink and yellow chrysanthemums. As a gentle reminder of the school life, the college motto “Ad Stellas” occupied a prominent position. The whole of the arrangements were carried out by a committee of boys and girls and reflected very great credit upon their taste and organising ability, and they were amply rewarded by the joy and" pleasure expressed by all present, and by the way in which the programme was carried out.
