BUSINESS PROGRESS.

NEW MOTOR GARAGE-UP-TO-DATE SERVICE. The motoring public, who are always on the look-out for good service, will be interested in the enterprise of Messrs. Jellyman and Forbes, of New Plymouth, who have erected a new garage in Devon Street (near Gover Street). The premises recently occupied, in Egmont Street, liaving served their purpose for three years, and the growth of the business necessitating a change, the firm is now in occupation of a very commodious garage. Built in concrete and iron, it has 53 feet frontage to the main street and a depth of 90 feet. Two showwindows in front will be used for accessories and cars, respectively. A further depth of 45 feet at the back of the section, available for future extensions, shows that the proprietary is not wanting in foresight and a progressive spirit.

The workshop is equipped with every convenience to cater for repairs in the motor line, and three pits are available for overhaul work. A battery-charging plant is just being installed. A feature will be that the firm is giving service from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, and this shotild be a boon to all motorists, and particniarly country visitors to town. Sunday hours are 9 to 10.30 a.m. The general engineering work will be under the supervision of Mr. J. Forbes, who is already well known in New Plymouth, as an engineer of wide experience he is also able to cater for all classes of dairy factory work, and has already carried out many installations in the district. The foreman of the workshop is Mr. Fred Grundy, who has just joined the firm’s employ after six years in a similar capacity with Messrs. L. W. Lewis and Co., the well-known garage proprietors, of Gisborne. The firm is fortunate in securing the services of such an experienced mechanic to place at the disposal of car-owners. Messrs. Jellymah and Forbes will undertake any class of engineering, aiming to do all kinds of mechanical and electrical repairs. “And we will stand behind any jobs entrusted to us.” said a member of the firm, in speaking to an enquirer yesterday. A competent man will be in charge all the time the garage is open. There is plenty of space for housing cars, and a big line of accessories is being carried, as will be seen by a glance at the room, well fitted up for this purpose. Amongst the stock is a big range of Miller tyres and the Sparta (English) batteries, while the usual benzine and oils are also available. In continuing their business in the new premises, Messrs. Jellyman and Forbes are certainly in a position to cater well for the motorist. — (Published by arrangement.)
