SOUTHERN MARKETS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. There has been little development in the grain and produce market since the weekend report. The tone of the oat market is weaker and any inquiries are confined to email parcels, which are easily met by tho quantities coming forward. Speculation is lifeless, and generally there is a lack of confidence in the future, particularly for B’s, supplies of which will probably be increased by the bad harvest weather in the south, where the crop is now coming on the market. From 2s 6d to 2s 8d for A's and 2s 4d tc 2s 5d for B’s is the average wayside quotations. Fowl wheat Is selling freely from undergrade stocks at 4s 4d to 4s 6d The cowgrass market is about the same at from lOd to 12d per lb. Whilst there is a feeling in some quarters that there will be a bare supply, other reports are that the yields and quality are promising satisfactorily. Local samples to hand are so far good. There is no alteration in the potato market, but farmers are not offering mucn u< £3* 10s. the figure ruling at Country stations for several weeks. LONDON MARKETS. HIGH COMMISSIONER S CABLED REPORT.
