RECRUITS FOR THE CHURCH.
NEW ZEALANDERS WANTED. “My conviction, based on many years of experience in this country, and expressed with all due respect l to the fine ministers who have come to us from England—l happen to be one of them myself—de that the very best men we can have for the Church in New Zealand are the men brought up in New Zealand homes, trained in New Zealand universities, and ordained in New Zealand churches,” said the acting-Primate. Bishop Julius, of Christchurch, in the dedicatory address delivered at St. John’s College last week. “These men will know conditions here,” he continued, “and after two or three years’ work among their own people they could be sent home to England for a year or two to gain experience in a wider field. They would then return to do still better work in their own country. These are the kind of men St. John’s College should try to bring into God’s service.”
