EIGHT SEPARATE CHARGES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Seven charges of obtaining goods bj false pretences, and one of having obtained credit by fraud, were preferred at the Police Court, to-day. against Al bert Charles Lamb, aged 38. The total value of the goods, principally clothing; was £lO5 6s. As regards the false pretences charges, t’ho evidence showed that accused represented himself as a Taumarunui business man. and issued cheques which were dishonoured. He had no business, but had a banking account. The statement by the accused was that he did not the account was not in credit, and he pleaded not guilty. The accused was committed for tnai. On the credit by fraud charge, he was remandeu to Wellington.
