May 13—St. Andrew’s Cross medal match (Austin buttons to winners). May 20 —Bogie match. May 27—Teams’ match, captain versus secretary. June 3—-New Plymouth v. Hawera, at New Plymouth. June 10—Medal match. ** June 17—Mixed foursomes, 15 holes, medal play, partners and opponents to be drawn. June 24—Bogie match July I—Four-ball match, sen'/ors ’to. partner with juniors. July B—St. Andrew’s Cross medal match (Austin buttons to winners). July 15—No competition. July 22—Bogie match. July 29—Flag match. Aug. s—Championship, first qualifying round. Aug. 12—Championship, second quahiyihg round. Aug. 19—Championship, first round, match play. Aug, 26—Championship, semi-finals. Sept. 2—Championship, finals. Sept. 9 —No competition. Sept. 16—St Andrew’s Cross medal match (Austin buttons to winners). Sept. 23—Bogie match. Sept. 30—No competition. Oct. 7—Teams’ match, over 40 versus
■ under 40 years of age. Oct. 14—No competition. Oct. 21—Closing day, mixed foursomes, bogie, 15 holes. Oct. 23—(Labor Day). Taranaki v$ Wanganui; also prize-gtving at clubhouse at 4 pan. Senior players are those of fourteen medal handicap or und£r; junior players are those of fifteen medal handicap or over. NOTES. Mr. C. H. Burgess has kindfy offered prizes for players showing the most improved style of play during the season, and the match committee hopes shortly to arrange the conditions under which these will be awarded. Two teams’ matches have been arranged, one captain v. secretary, and the other men over 40 against those under 40. Another match set down for July 15 is that of the ladies v. men, the former to play off the ladiee’ tees aud to receive nine strokes haSdicap. The ladies will play a medal match on Tuesday, partners to be drawn. Entries close on Saturday at the clubhouse, or with the secretary. To-day there will be a bogie handle cap. Members ebould note that the, Medley Cup will this year be won byi the player having the best aggregate' result in any three of the five monthly, bogie matches. The Mana-watu Golf dub has written asking the New Plymouth Club to t visit Palmerston North to play an' 1 inter-club match there this fceftson on a date to be arranged. ’ ! PLAY IN ENGLAND. London, April 26. England won the women’s international teams’ golf match at Ranelagh with an aggregate of 309. Scotland was second with 318. Miss Wethered, with 70, did the best round. Miss Leitch took 74.
