ENTERTAINMENTS.

EVERYBODY’S. “THE KID,” TO-NIGHT. The million dollar motion picture has become a reality. It is “The Kid,” First National six reels of joy, starring Charlie Chaplin and Jackie Coogan, which shows at Everybody’s to-night and to-morrow, at both sessions. “Six reels of joy” tells but half of it, for while tile comedian has never been so mirth-provoking in any previous production ,the story which is unfolded contains more real heart-throlbs than many a picture that has (built up reputations for emotional actresses. Read this; it is what a great critic wrote about “The Kid”:—'“lt might have -been one reel or twenty, for we were unconscious of the passage of time while the mirth-provok-ing, heart-rending story of ‘The Kid’was unfolded on the screen. The attempt to give the story of ‘The Kid’ would be as impertinent on our part as for an art critic to include his own sketches as masterpieces. We haven’t the ability of Chaplin to make people cry and laugh at the same time. When you go to see ‘The Kid,’ loosen your clothing at the waist, <for you will need your greatest capacity for laughing, and put your clean ‘hanky’ in your porket, for if you have a shred of human pity in you there are scenes that will bring tears to your eyes,” “Tne Kid” will be supported ihy a 7-reel First National feature, “Nolbody,” starring Jewel Carmen. Patrons who are wise will reserve seats at Collier’s and not risk being turned a way. THE PEOPLE’S. To-night is the last night of the eminent author’s production, “The Cup of Fury,” which depicts the life of a pampered daughter of the rich. A dancing, pleasure-loving butterfly, she found her wits pitted against the most gigantic problem facing the country to-day. On one side beckoned the old life of .pleasure, gaiety and ease; on the other side, a life of drab toil and sweat, fraught with hardship and privation. And in the balance hung the fate of starving humanity. It is a screen version of Rupert Hughes’ great American story of to-day. The usual prices of admission will prevail.
