JAPAN IN SIBERIA.
NO WITHDRAWAL OF FORCES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-—Copyright. Received April 23, 5.5 p.m. Tok io, April 21. The War Minister (Mr. Yamanashi) informed an Opposition delegation that a reduction of the Japanese forces in Siberia was impossible until agreement was reached with a responsible Russian Government for the maintenance of order. Mr. YamanasM indicates that Japan will ’ act in case Japanese interests in Shantung are menaced, or in case Chinese functions enter “‘the neutral zones. Under the circumstances it is impossible to reduce the Japanese army by more than sixty thousand men.— Aus.-N.iZ. Cable Assn.
