EX-SOLDIERS IDLE.

CHRISTCHURCH UNEMPLOYED. IMMIGRANTS INCLUDED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The Labor Department’s bureau haa about sixty men on its books at the present time and the Repatriation De.partment about the same number, though possibly some men are included in both lists. Most of the unemployed belong to the unskilled labor class. Some of the men are partially disabled ex-soldiers who want light work, which is particularly scarce just now. A proportion of the out-of-works are Imperial ex-soldiers and recently arrived immigrants. The freezing works are giving work to a number of semi-skilled men, but other industries cannot absorb any more of the unskilled labor now offering.
