THE PRINCE IN JAPAN.
WELCOME ON INLAND TOUR. AMAZING ENTHUSIASM. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Tokio, April 20. The Prince of Wales’ four hours’ journey from Tokio to Nikko was a joyride through a cheering countryside. The entire population along the railway assembled at the stations to salute the train. At one point the Prince was so touched by the amazing outburst of enthusiasm that he alighted and walked among the gathering. Cheering is a recently acquired custom of the Japanese, but a London crowd could not outdo them. Nikko was brilliantly illuminated. The Prince is resting after a strenuous time.
