A PROHIBITION LAW. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 21, 8.30 p.m. Tokio, April 20. The Japanese Diet lias enacted the first prohibition law in the history of Japan, prohibiting the sale df intoxicating liquors to minors. A violator of thus prohibition will be .fined five dollars. Sho Nemoto, a W.C.T.U. worker, has introduced the same Bill every session since 1890. The Budget, appropriating 741,000,000 dollars, and the repeal of the ban on women participating in political movements, was also passed.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
