BURGLARS AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Bur glare visited Macky, Logan and Caldwell’s warehouse last night. The office was ransacked, but nothing of value was secured. EXCESS WATER IN BUTTER. Gisborne, Last Night. At the Magistrate’s Court the Okitu Dairy Factory was charged with selling butter containing a greater percentage of water than was allowed by the Foods and Drugs Act. The magistrate (Mr. Barton) said the evidence showed that the excess was 1.24, and he imposed a penalty of £25. TRAMWAYMEN’S CONDITIONS. Dunedin, April 21. The Dunedin tramwaymen met the corporation under the Labor Disputes Investigation Act. They are seeking a new agreement on the basis of the Auckland, Wanganui and New Plymouth award. They asked a maximum of 2s 04d per hour for senior grade motormen, a minimum of 1-s lOd for conductors, an increase of threefarthings approximately. It is stated that the alteration will cost £7335 annually. The Commissioner suggested the renewal of the present award pending the Arbitration Court announcement. The union assessors tentatively agreed, providing the executive endorse their action.
