Stryczineki, a prominent Polish leader, and an expert adviser to the Allies in Silesia, lias been assassinated at Cleiwitz. Recently he received threatening letters from a German secret eociety. His assailant escaped. Martial law has been proclaimed at Cleiwitz.— Reuter Service. INDIAN FRONTIER MURDER. Received April 20, 5.5 p.m. Delhi, April 19. Details of the death of Captain Woodhouse, of the frontier constabulary. show that fifty Mahsuds attacked a picket protecting a partv engaged in restoring a dam at Zam. Captain Woodhouse and a subedar, who were assisting the withdrawal of the party, were cut off and both were killed. —• Reuter Service.
