STRANGE CAVES.
A REMARKABLE DISOOVjERY. PASSAGES IN SOLID ROCK. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received April 17, 7.35 p.m. Capetown, April 16. A remarkable discovery hae been made at Koster, ninety miles from Johannesburg. Two Dutch far mere found an opening in the ground, eighty feet in circumference, with a sheer drop two hundred feet, and then Ibranehes and a network of passages through solid rock in all directions, with some deeper fissures to a depth of five hundred feet. These passages were filled with mummified remains of birds and. animals in a remarkable state of preservation and vast numbers of the remains of apes and birds were brought to the surface. Preparations are being made to more explore the caves.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
