President Harding informed Representative Longworth that he flatly favors a navy of 86,000 men, and opposes the reduction to 07,000 provided by the House Naval Bill. BRITISH TRADE STATISTICS. London, April 13. The principal decrease in imports in March were: —Meat, £2,908,132; other non-dutiable food, £2,910,669; oils and fat, £2,028,102. The decreases in exports were: Cotton yarns, £2,026,454; machinery, £1,417,676. Increases were shown in the following imports: Wool, £2,749,392; grain and flour, £1,610,482; raw cotton, £1,418,131. The increase in the export of coal was £1,503,433. REDUCING AMERICA’S NAVY. Washington, April 11. Mr. Hughes, Secretary of State, has entered' the fight against the reduction of the navy personnel to 67,000.
