SOLDIER SETTLERS.

COMPLAINT OF TROUBLES. PREMIER URGES COURAGE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, April 13. A deputation of soldier settlers from Manawatu waited on Mr. W. F. Massey and Mr. D. H. Guthrie to-day, urging that relief be given, as they were in difficulties. They wanted a remission of rent and a re-valuation of their holdings. The Prime Minister and Mr. Guthrie pointed out that re-valuation could not oe made under' a three-yearly period. They stated that the present was not a time to ask for a remission of rent, as no one could tell what would happen in the future. Mr. Massey urged the men not to be discouraged, as there had been a worse time in the country before.
