Tn reply to the Taranaki Education. Board, the Director of Education (Mr. J. Caiighley) has written stating that owing to pressure of urgent business his visit to New Plymouth would have to be postponed for some time. It was decided that the. secretary write to the director urging a visit to New Plymouh at all early date, as the board had not had opportunity since his appointment of discussing with him a number of important matters affecting the interests of the district. On page 1 of this issue the ValuerGeneral notifies his intention to hold sittings as a Royal Commission to enquire into dairy farmers’ mortgages at New Plymouth, Stwtfoi’d and Hawera.
