GOLF.
EASTER TOURNAMENT. The Taranaki championship meeting and handicap tournament commences on the New Plymouth Club’s links on Saturday. Indications are that entries should be quite in keeping with previous years. They include players from Napier, Wanganui, Palmerston Nortn, and Wellington, in addition to competitors from Taranaki clubs. Championship play is to commence at nine o'clock on Saturday, with a qualifying round of 36 holes, 10 to qualify. A teams’ match and medal handicaps will be held in conjunction with this. Monday’s progi 'iime includes the second and third rounds of the championship and medal and bogey handicaps. Tn addition to the final of the championship on Tuesday, bogey handicaps and a continuous putting competition will be conducted.
