WESTRALIAN LOAN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, April 7. The West Australian two million 5 per cent, loan, issued at 96, has been underwritten. LONDON MARKETS. London, April 6. Wool.—At the Hull wool sales there was good competition, practically all being sold. Good merinos were par to 5 per cent, above London closing rates, medium and low crossbreds fully 5 per cent. The Bradford market is firm and active, quotations being nominally unchanged, but have a hardening tendency for merinos and fine crossbreds. Wheat cargoes.—The British demand is quiet, but Continental is better, though weak. American, at the close, met with reduced quotations all round. Afloat 555, loading 55s 6d, parcels afloat 54s 6d. The spot trade is quiet. Australian due is quoted at 595. Flour.—Slow of sale. Australian ex store 45s Gd. Barley.—lnactive. Australian chevalier 48s to 535. Oats.—'Market tending to be easier. Peas.—Market firm but quiet. Tasmanian blues 460 s to 5205, New Zealand 380 s to 4405. Beans are steady. Sugar.—Granulated 48s 6d, Copper.—Spot £5B 8s 9d, forward £59 3s 9d. Lead.—Spot £2l 17s 6d, forward £2l 7s 6d. Spelter.—£26. Tin.—Spot £144 3s 9d, forward £145 16s 3d. Silver.—33 5-8 d per ounce.
