CHEAPER MESSAGES URGED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright London, April 6. The Times, in a leader, strongly urges the cheapening of Press rates between Britain and the Dominions as a means of promoting the security of the Empire. Mr. F. G. Kelleway (Postmaster-Gen-eral) says that cheaper ratee on Government cables must not affect the solvency of the service, but it would be better to keep the cables employed at cheaper rates than for them to remain idle. Lord Northcliffe frequently drew attention to the injury done British interests in the Far East by the tendency to receive news through foreign channels.— Times Service.
