THE FRENCH TOUR. ANOTHER WIRE PULLED. THE PREMIER SENDS A CABLE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland. Last Night. At the meeting of Hie management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, the chairman reported that, after consulting with the New Zealand Union, he had endeavored to get the assistance of the Premier in persuading the French Union to undertake a tour. Mr. V. H. Potter, M.P., brought the matter to the notice of Mr. Massey, with the result that it is understood the Premier has cabled the French Government, emphasising the disappointment that would be felt in New; Zealand if the French tour were abandoned.
