FARMERS’ UNION REQUEST. FOR LAST YEAR’S MINIMUM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. At a meeting -of the South Canterbury executive of the Farmers’ Union to-day, Mr. J. Bitchener, M.P., presiding, it was decided to ask the Government to guarantee a minimum price for wheat next season, the price to be not less than that for thia year. It was also decided that the Government be heartily thanked for making « genuine attempt to secure for the farmers a more equitable share of the profits arising from the meat industry by the formation of the Meat Control Board.
