Received April 5, 9.55 p.m. London, April 5In the House of Commons, Commander Hilton Young emphasised the vast difference in conditions existing in the periods which Sir J. D. Rees cited. He pointed out that the most expensive social services —war pensions, old-age pensions, public health and unemployment —were of recent origin, and no member would suggest the discontinuance of them.
