COOKS’ AND STEWARDS’ CLAIMS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, April 1. The Union Steamship Company has filed counter-claims against the Federated Cooks’ and Stewards’ Union, for a new award. The claims of the union provided for an increase of £2 per month for stewards, and £3 for cooks. The wages proposed by the company are, it is said, equivalent to a reduction of £4 10s per month on current rates.
