AMERICAN DEMAND FOR BLANKETS.
The American Trade Commissioner in Melbourne (Mr. J. W. Sanger) has received a letter from a large New York department store, stating:—“We are in a position to pass on a very substantial business over a considerable period to any Australian mill that can make for us all-wool blankets of a grade\and quality and at a. price required by \our customers.” Mr. Sanger believes that there are a number of Australia’s manufactured products that are not known in America, but which could find a market there provided they could be produced- at a fair price, and in sufficient quantities. He urges manufacturers and exporters to make the freest possible use of the facilities his Melbourne office affords for placing information regarding these products before possible American buyers.
