Saunders has returned to Otautau. Mrs. E. F. Fookes was hostess at a bridge party on Wednesday night, when Mrs. Collins and Miss Brown (Auckland) were the prize-winners. Miss Enid Taylor left on Tuesday for a visit to Feilding and Wellington. Miss E. Rundle, who is playing in tne Auckland-Taranaki tennis match, left for Auckland last night. Mr. and Mrs. James Jordan and Miss Dulcie Jordan left last night for Whangarei, where they intend to reside. Mrs. James Whitton (Oamaru), who has been the guest of Mrs. Wm. Kerr left on Tuesday for Feilding, where she ' intended spending a day or two before ! leaving for England from Wellington, on the Port Bowen. Mrs. D. ; R. Colson is visiting Wellington. *»«***■ Miss Brown (Auckland) is the guest of Mrs. A. C. H. Collins. Mrs. W. Ginger (Manutahl) !s spending a few days at New Plymouth. Mrs. H. Bertram (Rotorua) is the guest of Archdeacon and Mrs. Evans. Sister Crombie, late of the Patea Hospital, is staying with Mrs. Fred Watson. • Mrs. Collins and Mrs. Paul were hostesses at bridge parties for Miss Brown this week. Mrs. Walter Ambury lias returned from a trip to Auckland and Rotorua. Mrs. Herbert Nicholson has returned from Dunedin. ****** Mrs. Magnay (Whenuakura) is on a visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. Harry Fookes gave a most enjoyable bridge party for Mrs. Livermore and Mrs. Horner last night. On Monday night, at Kawaroa Paric, a very jolly little dance was given for the captain and officers of the Pakeha, and on Tuesday a return dance was given by the captain on board the Pakeha. **** x * * Mrs. Woodward, who has been staying with Mrs. T. A. Milroy, has returned to Hawera. Mrs. Mowlem (Palmerston North) is the guest of Mrs. A. M. Mowlem. Miss Una Greenwood has left for Auckland. ****** Mrs. Crofts, who a short time ago arrived from Cambridge. England, has come to reside in New Plymouth. ****** Miss Sturtevant (Auckland) arrives next week to spend a few days with Mrs. Whitton. Miss Ruby Wilding, of Christchurch, who has established a reputation as one of the most promising young dancers in New Zealand, will arrive in New Plymouth on April 13, where she will reside for some time. During her stay she will teach both fancy dancing and ballroom dancing. Miss Wilding is a daughter of Mrs. Wilding, of the Christchurch Theatre Royal, and she has been a gifted dancer ever since she was a very little girl. She has appeared in several pantomimes at Christchurch and at Greymouth under Mr. Tom Pollard, and has filled special engagements at the Liberty Theatre, Christchurch, with Mr. Fred Reade Wauchop, under whom she studied. Miss Wilding is not unknown in New’ Plymouth, where she has several friends. —Advt.
