THE PEOPLE’S. EUGENE O’BRIEN IN "CLAY DOLLARS.” What is described as one of the best vehicles of his screen career is Eugene O’Brien’s Selznick picture, “Clay Dollars,” which opens at the matinee today at 2 p.m. The production is somewhat unusual in that there is no preponderance of ball room or drawing room scenes, but is a straight-forward story dealing iff a humorous and original way with events typical to every small town in the country. The bill includes gazette, comedy and “The Adventures of Tarzan.” EVERYBODY’S. “BLACK BEAUTY” MONDAY AND TUESDAY. “Black Beauty,” known and loved for forty years, in every part of the world where books are read, has come to life. The wonderful horse, whose autobiography was recorded by Anna Sewell to delight many millions of readers in every civilised country bn the globe, is to be seen in action. His life, through all its changing phases of playful colthood, early pleasures, trials and fears; its contact with the lives of other horses and of human beings; its hardships, dangers and triumphs—all these are unfolded on the motion picture screen. A drama with a throbbing appeal—every lover of a horse will glory in it. Every lover of fair women and strong men will find their ideals. oo its appeal is universal. Box plans are at Collier’s. LAST NIGHT OF “THE MASTER MIND.” Lionel Barrymore, the talented star of the stage and screen, will be seen finally to-night in “The Master Mind.” This offering provides the virile star with ample opportunity to reveal his histrionic gifts, and he takes fullest advantage of ’them. Mr. Barrymore appears as Henry Allen, who resolves to take revenge upon the District Attorney for sending his brother to the electric chair. This play scored a sensation on the stage, and as a picture it is filled with those tense situations and climaxes which keep one in suspense. Mr. Barrymore is supported by a competent cast. The backgrounds are rich in atmosphere, the photography being excellent. “The Lure of the Circus,” gazette and comedy are also on the bill.
