N.P. BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.
WORK IN NEW PLYMOUTH. The ordinary meeting of the above society was held at the office of the president, Mr. R. C. Hughes, on Wednesdays March 29. The treasurer of the society, Mr. N, K. MaeDairinid, submitted a balance sheet of the recent concert, which showed a surplus of £l4 17s 6d. The credit balance to date was shown as £6 0s Sd. The Society wishes to sincerely thank Miss L. R. Baker for a donation of £2 2s, It was decided to commence the first working bee of the season on Saturday, April 22, at 1.30 p.m., at Baines Terrace, where so much good work has already been done. Voluntary workers will be very welcome on that date. Subscriptions and donations will al- . iray* very welcome and can be paid
to the president, Mr. R. C. Hughes, the treasurer, Mr. N. K. MacDairmid, Fitzyoy, or the hon. secretary, Mr. C. E. Pepperell, Brougham Street. Member’s subscription is 5s per annum.
