GUN ALLEY MURDER.
ROSS APPEALS TO HIGH COURT. AGAINST HIS SENTENCE. By Tclegrapb.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received March 29, 10.30 p.m. Sydney, March 29. The High Court has commenced the hearing of an application by Ross for special leave to appeal against his sentence in connection with the Gun Alley murder, on the ground that the decision of the Victorian Court of Criminal Appeal, in refusing the appeal, was wrong in law. Counsel for Ross submitted that the confessions on which Ross was convicted were the result of a conspiracy, as the woman Matthews was at daggers drawn with Ross.
