DEPARTURE OF THE PAKEHA. The Shaw, Savill liner Pakeha sailed from New Plymouth yesterday morning for the Wanganui roadstead after being in port for six days. From Ne l * Plymouth the vessel took 25,600 freight carcases (drawn from the Patea, Waitara and Smart Road works), 8000 crates of cheese, 770 bales of wool, 770 casks of tallow, and 600 cases of preserved meats. After the Pakeha’s departure the overseas berth was occupied by the Kaikorai, which has been anchored in the stream since Friday. Following the departure of the Kaikorai on Saturday there will be a temporary lull in overseas arrivals, though several big vesj/K are due at New Plymouth next mon\h ( and in May. These inchide the M®* kalla, Tredenhain, Canadian Canadian Constructor, City of Winches ter and Wairuna.
