RACING IN ENGLAND. THE GRAND NATIONAL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. London, March 24. The result of the Liverpool Grand National was: Music Hall 1, Drifter 2, Tany4us 3. Received March 26, 5.5 p.m. London, March 24. For the Grand National Steeplechase there were th.irty-tw._o starters. Southampton, favorite, fell at the first fence, while Clashing Arms and .Shauns* padah, second and fourth favorites, fel soon after. Only five horses completed the course. The race was won by twelve lengths, the third horse being lengths away. TRENTHAM TRAINING NOTES. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Trentham, March 25. This morning’s training work Was done on the outside of the course proper, which was in good order. Insurrection and Kick Off went once round, taking lmin 43 2-ssec over the last mile. Quest and Scion rana mile in the same .time, the former being some lengths ahead. Basso and Reset took lmin 17sec to over six furlongs, and Halifax and. Coalition lmin 18sec. Esperance galloped seven furlongs in lmin 32sec; Capping Day and Canyon six in 18 1-ssec; Printemps, Island and Martial Dawn seven in lmin 31sec; Backsheesh and Te Kuri five in lmin 2 3-ssec; Moonstruck and Blackhead five in lmin 31-ssec; Princess Pat, assisted by Kilroe and Rimutaka over the last five, seven furlongs in lmin 30 3-ssec.
